Lac Bleu and the Glacier des Pelerins

A nice short walk from the Plan du Midi cable station although you can of course if you wanted to make it longer you can walk up  from Chamonix.

Lac Bleu is a wonderful relaxing spot underneath the Chamonix Aiguilles although we have in the past sat by the peaceful water and heard the sound of heavy rock falls resonating off the mountains.

A path marked in customary red spots heads down from the Plan Du Midi across a boulder field and in about 15 minutes you reach the lake.

A slightly longer path leaves the Plan du Midi restaurant heading away from the lake towards the Glacier des Pelerins making it possible to have two relatively short walks with rewarding dramati scenery and a sense of remoteness.

It is possible with the right equipment and care to continue crossing over the first glacier on continue to Les Glaciers. and Glacier des Bossons.
