A week of cross country skiing and snowshoeing or at least that is what we had expected. 12 falls later and Kev decided he wasn't that keen on the skiing whilst Lizzie bravely carried on despite the snow melting away.
Our second trip out to Chamonix where we spent 10 days mixing walking along the lower level valley paths, the grand balcons, walking up to the 2500 metre peak of Brevant and some climbing at Les Gaillands. If anything this year was better than last, we were more self dependant, knew where to go for the guides, lift passes and how all the smaller tracks could be linked up to provide a good day out. Chamonix is certainly well catered for almost all outdoor activity and seems to be intent on promoting and adding to the list of summer activities - Paragliding, Rafting, an increasing network of well marked footpaths for all abilities, climbing, Alpinism and ice climbing. |
